Step into Warm Springs, and don't mind the body
The tiny town of Warm Springs becomes a hotbed of murder and mystery after James and Kat move in. But what they don't know is that it always was that way...
Frankin D. Roosevelt put the town on the map by establishing a preeminent campus and research institute, along with his home, the Little White House. Fading away into the Georgia clay, the town and campus still harbor the passions and emotions that fueled murder and mystery since the 1940's.

A cozy mystery series
James Wilder and his trusty Kat move to a campus in Warm Springs, a small town far from the mainstream. Seeking a quiet and simple life of cooking and gardening, the illusion is soon spoiled by a dead body in the lake. The police call it accident but James knows better. He investigates, helped by the older and unusual residents calling Warm Springs home. Finally the murderer comes for him, but is thwarted by a drink.
Soon another body turns up on Pine Mountain just as James opens a bookstore. This time he is an official consultant for the police but runs into a large conspiracy and several suspects. Eventually he muddles through it and finds the killer and stops the conspiracy. But he ends up with more than he can handle, including a girlfriend that is an author and golfer.
Before he can settle down, a voice for the past beckons him to England. He soon finds old ghosts are the most difficult to be rid of. His forgotten past roars back as he tries to solve a mysterious death and help old and new family in the Lake District. But surprises disrupt even the best investigative work, and upend the best laid plans.
Every new mystery is underpinned by efforts to solve an old one--the murder from 1945 detailed in a message found under his guest cottage, committed during the heyday of the Roosevelt campus and institute.
Sometimes life in a small town does not go as planned—including the life part.
James Wilder was looking for a quiet, safe place to escape his former life. A place to walk, garden, and cook, along with his loyal cat. He found it in the charming campus town of Warm Springs. Or maybe not, as he soon finds a cold body floating in the picturesque lake.
The mystery begins as the body is identified as a local real estate agent. Well-liked in town, she had no enemies, except perhaps the jealous husband, the roguish boyfriend, or the shifty business partner. They all have plenty of their own secrets to hide.
As the police quickly sweep the case into the tragic accident file, James decides it is up to him to find out what really happened. The craziness begins as he seeks clues and finds the eccentric older crowd in town helping him. Even his cat chips in to judge the suspect’s character. But others just want him dead.
After putting the pieces together, he confronts the murderer. But his plan falls apart at the last minute and now he’s the next victim. Only a toddy can save him now.
